01 Challenge

The product problem

Acute-care coordination involves multiple roles, handovers and time-sensitive decisions. The challenge was to demonstrate a coherent shared workspace while respecting the security expectations and language of NHS environments.

02 Approach

Turning complexity into a usable product

I created a simulated smartcard entry flow with role-based access, audit status and a specific ward context. That framing makes the experience feel operational while remaining clear that it is a demonstration using fictional data.

03 Execution

What I designed and built

The prototype concentrates on secure entry, role selection and care-coordination navigation rather than making unsupported clinical claims. The interface uses familiar NHS-style cues and concise system feedback to establish trust quickly.

04 Outcome

What the POC proves

SympliCare provides a practical conversation piece for discovery with healthcare teams. It demonstrates how multidisciplinary coordination could be structured digitally, while production integration, clinical safety assessment and information-governance approval remain intentionally outside the POC.

How the product was shaped

SympliCare explored multidisciplinary coordination as a secure workflow problem: staff roles, patient context, tasks and handovers must remain traceable across a busy ward environment.

Coordination starts with responsibility

Tasks and observations were attached to a patient context, care-team role and accountable owner. That model supports handover and escalation more clearly than a shared list because the interface can distinguish who may view, update or complete each item.

Auditability built into state change

Sensitive workflow needs more than a current status. Important changes were conceived as timestamped events with actor and context, creating a route to history, review and integration. The public version uses representative data and does not claim certification or connection to a production clinical record.

Information density for ward conditions

The workspace prioritised urgency, ownership and incomplete work while keeping detailed patient information behind deliberate navigation. Responsive behaviour and predictable status language matter because coordination can happen across desks, tablets and handover settings, often under interruption.
